Men's Christian Louboutins

If manners make the man, then the shoes make the outfit! I just can't express how much I love Christian Louboutin especially after he decided to design footwear for men a few seasons ago. His past collections of sneakers and dress shoes for men have been so popular that his boutiques can barely keep them in stock; and now my favorite department store Barney's New York on Madison Avenue has become his other retailer! While on a recent shopping trip to Barney's a sales associate was kind enough to show me their Fall/Winter 2010 buy book and now I can't sleep...

Resort 2011

On May 11 Chanel revealed its Resort 2011 collection in St. Tropez. Models traipsed down the runway in an array of caftans, crocheted dresses, trouser suits, and patchwork denim skirts. Although I have an admiration for all things Chanel (just like many of you), my favorite was look 42. A tiered white dress that would be perfect for a spring or summer wedding as it would be on any other day of the week. Oh and don't forget a sun-kissed tan!

Adieu Marie Claire!

Now that I ended my internship with Marie Claire magazine I can finally devout more time towards my blog. It's been a while since I last updated everyone on my current projects and it's even more unfortunate that I never took the time to write about my everyday experiences at Marie Claire since I was always too busy. *Those of you who work in editorial understand! So to start off fresh again (and let's hope I keep you folks constantly updated!) let me say that on Wednesday, June 2nd I have a very important interview with a fashion icon whos name I will not disclose! Details to follow...

"Never Pay Retail Again" Launch Party

I feel sincerely blessed! Since moving to New York I have met so many people who have given me opportunities that I most wouldn't have been granted in Seattle. Style expert Lauren "Daisy" Lewellyn is one of them. On May 4th Daisy will be making an appearance on Good Morning America (followed by an appearance on Martha Stewart and many personal appearances at nationwide bookstores) to promote her new book, Never Pay Retail Again, a guide that shows you how to look your best on a budget. That evening she will have an exclusive launch party at Tracy Reese's Meatpacking District store to kick-off her book tour. The best part? I was asked to plan it! Amongst my love for fashion, I also have a passion for planning events and I am definitely looking forward to this event. It will be a night of music, drinks, shopping, book signing, picture taking, socializing, and oh, did I forget to mention that Ginger + Liz will be doing free manicures? :) See you there!

hola!

Welcome to my blog! I finally had the chance to post something on here and I don't even know where to start. For starters, I guess I can introduce myself. For those of you who don't know me, my name is James and I recently relocated to New York from Seattle, WA. I finally had the courage to pack up my Louis and pursue my dreams of working for a fashion magazine, however right now I'm just interning at Marie Claire. I love fashion, sushi, Girl Scout's Samoa and Thin Mint cookies, scary movies, traveling and I can go on and on, but I won't! Just keep yourself posted as I will continue to update this blog daily on my everyday encounters with fashion in New York City. Ciao!
